Faculty at BCIT
Glynda completed her BSN at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and her MSN at the University of British Columbia, Canada. She is an educator in the BSN Program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). Glynda is involved in several interprofessional research projects within BCIT and also in collaboration with other Canadian Nursing schools studying the impact of mobile devices laden with clinical resources, social networks and e-portfolios on nursing students and their education. Her interests include the integration of Informatics in undergraduate education, and the impact of educational technologies on nursing student’s clinical judgment and decision-making at the point of care. Glynda co-authored two open source education resource (Clinical Procedures for Safer Patient Care and Health Case Studies) funded by BC Campus in collaboration with local Health Authorities and BC Nursing Schools. She is co-leading a BC initiative to develop an Interprofessional open Source Educational EHR. She sits on the Research Ethics Board at BCIT, and is a digital health peer leader and content developer for CASN and Canada Health Infoway. Glynda is the President-Elect for the Canadian Nursing Informatics Association and a member of the AMIA Education and Nursing Informatics Working Groups.
