Description

The Carnegie Mellon University professor Randy Pausch popularized the idea of the last lectures.
Independent of our own last lectures due to retirement or death, we are all giving last-lectures—the last
lectures we will ever give to various students. I recently gave a “last lecture” to students at the University
of Utah as the last lecture of the semester course. My twenty-minute last lecture drew upon the wonderful
advice I had received from teachers and mentors over the years. In this five-minute talk I will rapidly
recite the highlights of 30 plus years of advice, correction, cajoling, and encouragement that I have had
the good fortune of receiving.
