Description

The National Center for Health Information Systems (CENS), developed a Model of Reference Competencies in Health Information Systems (HIS) with the purpose of establishing those competencies, that respond to the contextual characteristics of the Latin American Region, specifically for Chile. However, today local health industry and institutions, face the challenge of identifying and hiring professionals and technicians with the appropriate skills in HIS, to innovate the field of digital health. There are no professional standards or profiles in Chile to guide this search and enhance the development of the sector on a strategic level. Therefore, it is intended to raise professional and technical profiles that the country needs, defining 4 occupational profiles with their corresponding training-labor routes, through internationally validated methodologies and collecting the Model of Reference Competences defined for the sector. We present the methodology and the first results of that elaboration.
