Description

An interprofessional course using simulation to teach patient safety, communication, teamwork, and the value of interprofessional collaboration is conducted each year for health informatics, health administration, medical, nursing, pharmacy, and respiratory therapy students. The eight-hour training conducted over four weeks includes discussion of the roles of different health professionals, opportunity to practice communication techniques in an interprofessional setting, and the opportunity to work as a team during simulated semi-urgent scenarios.
