Informatics training can be strengthened through a formal data science track. Creation of a new data science track is an iterative process that brings up a number of questions that challenge a typical informatics program. In this presentation, we will describe challenges and lessons learned in our third year of data science training in a traditional informatics training program with an over 50-year history.
